Minimum cost b-matching problems with neighborhoods

چکیده

Abstract In this paper, we deal with minimum cost b -matching problems on graphs where the nodes are assumed to belong non-necessarily convex regions called neighborhoods, and costs given by distances between points of neighborhoods. The goal in proposed is twofold: (i) finding a graph (ii) determining point each neighborhood be connection among edges defining b-matching. Different variants problem considered depending criteria match neighborhoods: perfect, maximum cardinality, maximal – problems. theoretical complexity solving one these analyzed. mixed integer non-linear programming formulations for then reformulated as Second Order Cone formulations. An extensive computational experience shows efficiency solve under study.

Minimum cost path problems with relays

The Minimum Cost Path Problem with Relays (MCPPR) consists of finding a minimum cost path from a source to a destination, along which relay nodes are located at a certain cost, subject to a weight constraint. This paper first models the MCPPR as a particular bicriteria path problem involving an aggregated function of the path and relay costs, as well as a weight function. A variant of this prob...

Approximating minimum cost connectivity problems

We survey approximation algorithms and hardness results for versions of the Generalized Steiner Network (GSN) problem in which we seek to find a low cost subgraph (where the cost of a subgraph is the sum of the costs of its edges) that satisfies prescribed connectivity requirements. These problems include the following well known problems: min-cost k-flow, min-cost spanning tree, traveling sale...

Minimum Cost Matching for Autonomous Carsharing

Carsharing programs provide an alternative to private vehicle ownership. Combining carsharing programs with autonomous vehicles would improve user access to vehicles thereby removing one of the main challenges to widescale adoption of these programs. While the ability to easily move cars to meet demand would be significant for carsharing programs, if implemented incorrectly it could lead to wor...

Minimum Cost Perfect Matching with Delays for Two Sources

We study a version of the online min-cost perfect matching with delays (MPMD) problem recently introduced by Emek et al. (STOC 2016). In this problem, requests arrive in a continuous time online fashion and should be matched to each other. Each request emerges from one out of n sources, with metric inter-source distances. The algorithm is allowed to delay the matching of requests, but with a co...

Minimum Cost Matching in a Random Graph with Random Costs

Let Gn,p be the standard Erdős-Rényi-Gilbert random graph and let Gn,n,p be the random bipartite graph on n + n vertices, where each e ∈ [n] appears as an edge independently with probability p. For a graph G = (V,E), suppose that each edge e ∈ E is given an independent uniform exponential rate one cost. Let C(G) denote the random variable equal to the length of the minimum cost perfect matching...
